My Besties - January Challenge Reminder

So this is my first post as a newly appointed design team member for 'Colour It Create It Show It Off' challenge for My Besties using Sherri Baldy's digital stamps.  I am super excited for this opportunity and hope you all enjoy my posts and like my creations.





Firstly I started by printing the digi stamp on to Color copy 160gsm paper, which I find works well when colouring images in with alcohol markers. Then I started by colouring the skin, then the hair followed by her top and then trousers before finally giving her eyes colour and adding colour to the mug.  To colour in the image I used Spectrum Noir Tri-blend brush markers, which are new pens to me however I loved the result I got on this image. The colour combinations used are:

For the skin - Fair skin blend
For the hair - Gold brown blend

The top and bow on trousers - dark red blend
The trousers - brown grey blend
The patch - ice grey blend
The heart on the cup and bow - the lightest shade of the dark red blend


The mug - true blue blend
Eyes - mid shade of the true blue blend
Lips - mid shade of the pale pink blend
Coffee in mug - mid and dark of the tan blend


For the background I decided to stamp straight on to A6 white card blank with the coffee cup stamp from Time for Tea Designs - Bearing Gifts stamp set using Lawn Fawn - Lawn Fundamentals premium jet black ink pad and my small stamping block.  The lids to the coffee cups were coloured using black promarker, the coffee cup coloured with the mid and dark of the dark red blend Tri-blend with the sleeve then coloured using the light and mid of the ice grey blend.

I then cut out two banners in black card - one using the smallest tag from Time for Tea Designs Zig Zag Frame and Tag Die set and the other using the banner die from Time for Tea Designs Mini Frame and Banner Die set.  On the tag cut out I then stamped the sentiment ' life would be unbearable without ...' in versamark ink and on the banner cut out I cut it in half before stamping 'coffee' in versamark ink - both stamps were from Time for Tea Designs Bearing Gifts stamp set.  After that I covered the sentiments with WOW embossing powder caramel macchiato before using a heat gun to heat emboss the sentiments.  To the tag I then threaded a navy blue ribbon through the hole before tying in a bow.

Finally I stuck down the girl image using double sided tape and used foam tape to adhere the tag and cut down banner strip.

Hey all! Hope you are all well.  So today I wanted to share two cards I've made using a new company to me (TLC Designs), which I happened to stumble across; the cards are using the company's digital products while I await arrival of my stamps and dies. Piggin' Skipping Slider card

Hey everyone,  So today I wanted to share a penny slider card that I've made using Time for Tea Designs Workout pigs. Firstly I cut a piece of laminate wood effect paper measuring 148mm by 63mm and a piece of silver mirror card to 148mm by 84mm.  Then on the wood effect paper I placed the larger slider element die from the hooray hamsters set roughly in the centre before then running it through my Gemini machine.   The idea was to have a pig skipping moving with the slider element, therefore the next step was to colour the pig and skipping rope handles using Spectrum Noir Triblend brush pens and then adhered to skipping rope to the pigs trotters using Gert's glue. Next I stuck down the silver mirror card panel to the top of a 6 by 6 black card blank. Putting together the slider element you need a penny (well any coin will do but a penny is the cheapest), then I stuck 4 square foam pads across the coin and then stuck another row on top given it slight dimension.  I chose to use

Colour it - Create it - Show it off! March Challenge Reminder

Hey all! So here we are half way through March already and just wanted to remind you to enter into the challenge where as usual it is anything goes, to enter and for more information  click here . Absolutely loving the images I've been able to play with this month on the design team, so much I've made another 2 cards.   So starting with the card on the left the more complex of the two I would say. Firstly I downloaded the digi stamps and printed four images onto a sheet of A4  Color copy 160gsm pape r, which I then cut up to individual toppers.  Using Spectrum Noir Triblend brush pens I coloured in the one of the images, deciding to give the fairy a tanned colour to her skin along with a orange dress and accessories.  I used a spectrum noir clear sparkle pen to go over the fairies wings to give them a sparkle and coloured the bug's wings with a spectrum noir sandstone sparkle pen.   I cut down an A4 piece of super smooth card suitable for alcohol markers to give me a 6 by 6
