Hey there!
So another month is here, which means a new challenge over on the Color it, Create it, Show it off blog; details of how to enter can be found here. As always the challenge is anything goes therefore any image, project, techniques are welcome.
So this is my second design team entry and I have thoroughly enjoyed making this card.
I started firstly by choosing this gorgeous Sherri Baldy's My Besties digi gnome image and printed it off onto Color copy 160gsm paper. Following that I coloured the image using my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend brush pens - starting with the face and hands, before moving onto the gnomes beard/hair (for this i used silver lining promarker). For the gnomes clothing I decided to do rainbow colours using the light and mid shade of the tri-blend brush pens, finally then adding colour to the rest of the image.

Next it was onto creating the background so I took a 7" by 7" white card blank along with a time for tea designs medium blender brush, ground espresso distress oxide ink pad and the first stencil from fir and folliage no.1 stencil set from the greetery. I ink blended two tree bases onto the card blank before moving on to the second stencil and used with mowed lawn distress oxide to both trees before finally using the last stencil to add the final details on using rustic wilderness distress oxide.
In order to create the grass I used Time for Tea designs Sunny side up again stencil using the grass element applying rustic wilderness distress oxide using a blending brush, before then applying another layer of grass effect behind first layer this time using the mowed lawn distress oxide and added the mowed lawn oxide to the main bulk of the grass area blending colours together.
Finally to complete the background the sky needed some colour so i grabbed my large blue blender brush and used the excess ink on the brush to create the sky.
To add some detail to the foreground I then stamped, die cut and coloured the mouse next to mushroom, mushroom, birds and ladybugs from Time for Tea Deisgns Butterflies, Moovelous and Fairy Garden sets; using spectrum noir triblend markers.
I then stuck all my elements down and in place before stamping the sentiment 'you make me smile' from Time for tea designs Butterflies stamp set using Lawn Fawn Fundamentals Black ink using a small stamping block.
