Color it - create it - show it off! November reminder 2021

Image
Hey Everyone!  Wow, where has the time gone, can not believe we are into mid November already.  So its that to remind you all of the monthly challenge running over on the Color it - Create It - Show it off blog whereby as usual anything goes, for more details or to enter click  here. For this card I have used Sherri Baldy's My Bestie's Snow Globe Doll 9 which can be purchased  here.  Firstly I printed off the image and coloured it in using spectrum noir triblend brush pens and promarkers, before then fussy cutting the image out.  I wanted to create a clean and simple christmas card therefore I took a grey snowflake paper and adhered it to a 8 by 8 card blank (the snowflake paper was slightly smaller than the card blank). I then stuck the image to the snowflake paper using double sided tape and stuck the sentiment onto the card using foam tape.  The sentiment was from a paper boutique paper pad I had in my box of sentiments. Thanks for stopping by and c...

Hey Everyone!  Wow, where has the time gone, can not believe we are into November already.  So its that to mention to you all of the monthly challenge running over on the Color it - Create It - Show it off blog whereby as usual anything goes, for more details or to enter click  here. For this card I have used Sherri Baldy's My Bestie's Snow Globe Doll 9 which can be purchased  here.   I used an 8 by 8 card blank which I adhered a piece of snowflake vellum with two strips of christmas ribbon attached to the top and bottom of the piece of vellum; which was cut down slightly smaller than 8 by 8 and I rounded the corners. For the image I coloured it using triblend brush pens by crafter companion, along with some metalic promarkers and gel pens.  I cut down the image into a square topper and rounded the corners before layering onto a slightly larger piece of navy blue cardstock which I also rounded the corners.  The topper backed onto the navy cardst...

Hey Everyone!  Wow, where has the time gone, can not believe we are half way through September already.  So its that to remind you all of the challenger running over on the Color it - Create It - Show it off blog whereby as usual anything goes, for more details or to enter click  here. For this card I used Sherri Baldy's My Besties Summer drink Bestie doll 19 which can be purchased from  here.   Firstly I printed off the image and then coloured it using spectrum noir triblend brush pens, before then layering the image onto a teal coloured cardstock.   Onto a card blank I then layered a sheet of pink bubble paper, which I had received as a freebie with a magazine, and layered that onto teal cardstock before adhering to the card blank.  Finally I stuck down my coloured in topper onto the center of the bubble paper. I choose to leave the front of the card sentiment free as I thought one could either be added for a specific occasion or maybe a n...

Color it - Create it - Show it off September 2021

Image
Hey Everyone!  So its back to school time for us in the UK and time for this months challenge running over on the Color it - Create It - Show it off blog whereby as usual anything goes, for more details or to enter click  here. For this card I used a 8 by 8 card blank and using a pink ink designs stencil along with my blender brushes and distress oxides ink I created the back ground. I then printed the My Besties Gnome image and then coloured using my spectrum noir triblend pens prior to sticking the image onto the card blank I took a black promarker pen and a ruler to create a black edge line around the image to create an extra layer and bringing the image forward.  I decided to add the image on an angle rather than straight as this allowed more of the background to be seen. I wasn't too sure on what sentiment to use and couldn't find anything I wanted to use in my stash of stamps so therefore decided to hand write the sentiment using a black fine-liner. Tha...

Wow its August so that means another month another challenge over at Color it - create it - show it off; as usual it is anything goes, for more information and to enter  click here.  So for this months challenge my design team pictures I have used are from Sherri Baldys My besties July release, the first one uses flower car winter time besties doll 2 (can be purchased  here. ); the second card uses flower car winter besties doll 17 (which one can purchase  here ).         For the first card I used a flower stencil to create the background before adding a ribbed red ribbon across the middle of the card.  I coloured the image using my spectrum noir triblend brush pens before layering on to a sunshine yellow piece of card which I then stuck to the card blank before adding the sentiment 'without coffee and flowers' and then on the inside I stamped 'life would be unbearable'. For the second card I initially coloured in my besties image before then...

End of school year teacher presents and cards

Image
So its almost the end of another school year and I've been busy making teacher cards and some of the gifts.  So I decided to dedicate a blog post to this and share some of my creations. So firstly I made two kingfisher crystal art cards for my oldest's teacher and teaching assistant as I have thought this was very apt as his class was named Kingfishers, sadly I don't seem to have any pictures of these. The next item I did was to create a framed piece of art work, whereby using crafters companion stamps I stamped the letters S-A-L-L-Y, slightly overlapping some of the lettter, following that I coloured the flowers and foliage around the letters using my triblend brush pens.   After all the flowers and foliage were coloured I decided to colour the letters in shades of grey to allow it to stand out.  I was going to leave the background white however it didn't quite look right so I decided to mask up the letters and ink blend the background using time for tea blender br...

Color It! - Create It! - Show It Off! July Challenge Reminder Design Team card

Image
Oh my days, I cant not believe its the middle of July already its insane where has half the year gone already and the school break up for summer holidays next week and its my eldest birthday on 31st July. So for this card I used a latest released image - Sherri Baldy's My besties  Firstly I started by printing 4 of the images on to a sheet of A4 card stock suitable for alcohol markers and then coloured in one image using my Spectrum Noir Triblend brush pens along with a couple of my Promarkers before fussy cutting out the image.   Following that I took a piece of cheap copier paper and using a nesting die I cut out a 6 inch square to create a frame/ mask , which I then laid over a 8 by 8 card blank and secured the edges down with some masking tape so the paper did not move. Using Time for Tea Hillside village stamp set I stamped out the tree hill line followed by fence gate and sheep from an unbranded stamp set concluding with adding colour to the scene using triblends a...
